Dark Days Photo Challenge is a photo competition in Sogndal, Norway. The second edition of Dark Days Photo Challenge will be hosted at UTEPLASSEN January 13th - 17th 2016. Our idea is to showcase backcountry-skiing in the best possible way by inviting the best photographers and skiers for a photo-showdown.
Sogndal is a small town by the Sognefjord, on the west coast of Norway. Thanks to the surrounding mountains and glaciers the Sogndal-valley gets loads of snow each winter! During the last years the valley has become famous for the great snow, beautiful mountains and endless opportunities for skiing.
The venue for Dark Days is UTEPLASSEN, a smal ski lodge and afterski pub situated in Sogndalsdalen, twenty minutes from Sogndal city-centre. Here you find great skiing from the doorstep! Read more about UTEPLASSEN here!
Each invited photographer handpicks two skiers to join him/her on a quest to capture the best skiing Sogndal can offer. The team has from January 14th - 16th to shoot the best possible skiing, and deliver a slideshow within Saturday afternoon. A jury consisting of local and national profiles within the ski media will announce the winning team on Saturday evening.
1 photographer - 2 skiers - 3 days
We have handpicked a selection of skilled ski-photographers for Dark Days Photo Challenge 2016. They will team up with two skiers of their own choosing. The team will work 24/7 for three days on a mission to capture and showcase the best possible skiing Sogndal has to offer!
On Saturday January 16th the ski community will gather at UTEPLASSEN for a great party! The slideshows will be displayed and a jury consisting of local and national profiles within the ski media will crown the winning team!
